Overview
We are looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join our Supported Living scheme based at our Oldham office. The role is full‑time (35 hours) and offers hybrid working with regular travel across Greater Manchester to support tenants in the scheme.
The role
As a Housing Officer you will deliver a high‑quality customer‑focused housing management service to Supported Housing tenants under the guidance of the Neighbourhood and Communities Team Leader. Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing tenancy portfolios and ensuring compliance with housing policies, legal standards and regulatory requirements, including those set by the social housing regulator, housing ombudsman and safeguarding frameworks.
* Advising and supporting tenants on housing, work and financial matters and referring them to appropriate local support services.
* Working collaboratively with team members to plan and deliver tenancy, service and risk management activities.
* Meeting statutory and organisational KPIs, reporting and evidence management requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience working within the social housing sector with knowledge of supported housing issues.
* Resilient, professional approach to problem solving and contract dispute resolution with customers, ensuring compliance is maintained throughout.
* Competent in Microsoft Office and housing management systems such as Orchard.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with people at all levels.
* Strong knowledge of social housing legislation, including tenant satisfaction measures, regulatory standards, complaints service charge legislation and safeguarding.
* Willingness to develop housing related qualifications.
* Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle is essential.
