Overview

This will include assisting in running Orthoptic clinics in CLCH community clinics. You will be responsible for the assessment and management of children. You will be required to communicate complex needs and provide training to junior staff and support Orthoptic students on placement. Role details

Grade: 6

Site: Vale Drive Primary Health Care Centre / Oak Lane Clinic / Grahame Park Health Centre

Contract: Fixed Term Maternity cover 6 months

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (1.0 WTE)

We are looking to hire a full-time 1.0 WTE Band 6 Orthoptist for 6 months to cover maternity leave starting 1 December 2025 (previous clinical experience is desirable but not essential). We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a positive and innovative approach to service development and a commitment to working within a multi-disciplinary team. Band 6 Orthoptic post provides an exciting opportunity to work in CLCH community Paediatric Eye Service in the Borough of Barnet. The post holder will be a member of the dynamic multi-disciplinary Orthoptic/Optometrist team, working with a paediatric caseload.
