About The Role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children? We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of a childrens residential home. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of carers, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding for young people.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of the childrens home.
* Ensure high-quality care, safeguarding, and development opportunities for residents.
* Supervise, mentor, and support the staff team, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
* Lead by example, promoting a positive, nurturing environment tailored to each young persons needs.
* Oversee care plans, risk assessments, and incident reporting to ensure effective care delivery.
* Support Ofsted inspections, ensuring compliance with Childrens Home Regulations and Quality Standards.
* Liaise with external professionals, including social workers, educators, and healthcare providers.
Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), with willingness to work towards Level 5.
* Experience in childrens residential care with leadership or supervisory experience.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed care.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required.
