An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Halton community learning disability team.
The post holders will work as part of our established and highly supportive multi-disciplinary teams. Core clinical functions include assessment, intervention, consultation, clinical team formulation, training, collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and supporting audit and research programs.
You will join an established group of clinical psychologists with diverse experience and interests. The post holder will receive clinical and managerial supervision, have access to peer psychology meetings, training, CPD opportunities, and annual personal development reviews.
Your responsibilities include providing assessments, formulations, and interventions for service users with complex mental health issues, delivering staff training, and supporting teams with psychological principles.
The role involves delivering specialist psychological services, developing assessment and intervention strategies, and providing consultancy to ensure quality in psychological methods within the team.

Clinical Responsibilities
* Be a member of the service team, adhering to routines and policies.
* Provide highly specialist psychological assessments, including risk assessments.
* Deliver psychological interventions for individuals, families, and groups, refining formulations based on various models.
* Make autonomous decisions regarding assessment, treatment, and discharge.
* Consult with staff on client formulation, diagnosis, and intervention plans.
* Supervise staff in psychological techniques.
* Manage casework for individuals with severe psychological difficulties, prioritizing complex cases.
* Maintain records according to Trust policies.
* Contribute to health, social care, and community services to promote best practices and user choice.
* Handle emotionally distressing situations with resilience.
Managerial Responsibilities
* Support clinical and operational practices and policies.
* Implement and monitor service policies.
* Assist in service development and planning.
* Ensure clinical governance standards are met.
* Participate in managerial supervision.
Education and Development
* Supervise other psychologists and mental health staff.
* Prepare and oversee training placements.
* Engage in professional development and CPD.
* Contribute to professional appraisal processes.
Research and Audit
* Conduct service audits and support research initiatives.
* Participate in quality assurance and evaluation activities.
* Undertake research projects as needed.
