Assistant Catering Manager Location: Macclesfield Salary: £26,975.52 per annum (£13.35 - £14.41 per hour DOE) Hours: 36 hours per week (12-hour shifts: 7:00am - 7:30pm with a 30-minute break) Schedule: Rota-based over 7 days, including alternate weekends Contract Type: Permanent About the Role We're currently seeking an organised, motivated Assistant Catering Manager to join our team at residential care home. In this role, you will help oversee daily catering operations, support staff, and deliver high-quality, nutritious meals to individuals with varying dietary needs. You'll also step up to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Catering Manager. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook balanced, well-presented meals Support day-to-day kitchen operations and lead staff Ensure hygiene, food safety, and allergen protocols are followed Maintain stock control and minimise waste Assist with catering for special functions and events What We're Looking For Essential: NVQ Level 1/2 or City & Guilds 706/1 (or equivalent) Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Experience cooking for groups or in a professional kitchen Flexible to work weekends and varied shift patterns Knowledge of food safety, health and safety standards Desirable: Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate Experience in a residential or group-based catering setting Awareness of the sensitive needs of faith-based or community environments Why Join Us?
