The Opportunity:
Finatal are partnering exclusively with an ambitious, Private Equity-backed SaaS business headquartered in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. We are on a search for an exceptional FP&A Manager to lead a reset and transformation of its financial planning and analysis function. With a current ARR/turnover of c.£30m and substantial investment in place to fuel both organic and acquisitive growth, the business is on an exciting journey toward a planned exit in the next 2–3 years.
This newly defined role offers the opportunity to build and professionalise FP&A from the ground up, instilling the rigor and sophistication expected of a PE-backed, high-growth environment. Reporting directly to an experienced PE CFO, the FP&A Manager will operate independently to lead all aspects of planning, forecasting, analysis, and business partnering.
The Role:
Working alongside the Financial Controller and engaging closely with senior leadership across commercial, operations, tech, HR, and other non-finance areas, this role is pivotal in supporting high-quality, data-led decision making. The successful candidate will drive the budget and forecasting cycles, enhance analytical capabilities (leveraging tools such as Power BI), and support broader commercial finance activity, including bids and tenders.
A strong understanding of cash flow, capital allocation, and the wider investment landscape is essential, with the FP&A Manager playing a key role in aligning stakeholders around strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and lead a best-in-class FP&A function from the ground up
* Deliver and refine budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes
* Lead data-driven insights through dashboards, analytics, and scenario modelling (Power BI)
* Partner closely with senior leadership across all functions to support strategic decisions
* Support commercial finance processes, including pricing, bids, and tenders
* Own cash flow modelling and investment tracking
* Prepare board-level packs and insights in collaboration with the CFO
The Requirements:
* A professional finance qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* Proven experience in an FP&A leadership or standalone role
* Strong analytical, modelling, and data visualisation skills (Power BI or similar)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Experience in SaaS and SME environments highly desirable
* Previous exposure to Private Equity or high-growth businesses is a significant advantage
* A proactive, hands-on mindset and a desire to build and improve
Location & Working Pattern: This is a hybrid role based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, with a requirement to be in the office 3–4 days per week (with flexibility to reduce over time as systems and processes embed).
