Our vision is ambitious and to help us meet our challenges, the Council is shaping its Planning Enforcement Team to match the needs of growing demand from residents and Councillors, seeking to tackle enforcement in an efficient and effective manner, and make a positive difference to the District.
Senior Planning Enforcement Officer Key Responsibilities
This role will be pivotal within the team, and you will be responsible for a diverse caseload of planning enforcement cases, including all the related case management and customer liaison.
You will be carrying out site inspections, offering advice and resolving breaches of planning control through the most appropriate action. Senior Planning Enforcement Officer You
You will have strong interpersonal, persuasion and negotiation skills with experience of bringing contraventions to a resolution in a fair and proportionate manner.
We particularly welcome applications from experienced Planning Enforcement Officers looking for a new challenge within a busy and innovative team, or candidates with similar related experience looking to take on a new opportunity or take a step up to a more senior role.
You will have gained experience of working on a range of planning matters and have a working knowledge of CPIA, PACE and RIPA rules. Experience of working in an enforcement environment and within a customer focused setting is essential.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent verbal and written communication, and customer service skills, as well as the necessary motivation to deliver high performance whilst managing a caseload and working to tight deadlines.
It is essential that you have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
