Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring bone density, mammography, and stereotactic equipment are operational and compliant with MSQA standards through quality assurance checks and documentation.
2. Preparing exam rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
3. Reviewing requisitions and radiologist reports to ensure availability of previous images.
4. Consulting with radiologists for exam clarifications based on reports and patient history.
5. Explaining radiologic procedures to patients and providing education on mammogram types and results.
6. Completing and clarifying patient history questionnaires.
7. Referring patients with new symptoms or lacking recent physical exams to nurse practitioners.
8. Ensuring patient safety and comfort during exams.
9. Performing mammographic and stereotactic procedures safely.
10. Following policies set by relevant organizations including ARRT, MSQA, NAPBC, and DPH.
11. Coordinating work to maximize productivity and efficiency.
12. Participating in professional development and continuing education.
13. Maintaining confidentiality and providing excellent service to patients and staff.
14. Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
* Valid Massachusetts State License for Radiography and Mammography.
* Certification by the ARRT.
* Current BLS certification.
Position Details:
Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms and assist radiologists with needle localizations and stereotactic exams.
Schedule: 32 hours/week, rotating days and shifts, including some weekends and holidays.
