As the National Technical Manager, you will report into the Technical Director and be responsible for a team of two direct reports. In this position, you will support the Aggregates & Asphalt technical strategy with the Technical Director and facilitate collaboration, engagement, and sharing of best practices and successes, whilst identifying and supporting areas for improvement to enhance performance and consistency across regions.
Your responsibilities include (not exhaustive):
1. Driving quality performance improvements in Aggregates & Asphalt
2. Championing and communicating a clear, forward-looking Technical Strategy that enhances the efficiency, effectiveness, and competitiveness of the A&A business
3. Enabling and empowering regional teams to deliver the technical strategy through improved engagement, accountability, and performance against business KPIs
4. Strengthening Tarmac's influence by actively contributing to industry technical forums and committees
5. Supporting contracting in major bid processes, ensuring all suitable alternatives are mapped and considered
6. Developing and applying processes to ensure efficient production and testing
7. Working with the R&D manager to steer the development of new products aligned with market developments and commercial opportunities for Tarmac
8. Leading the national deployment of new products, ensuring consistent implementation, performance tracking, and feedback for continuous improvement
9. Collaborating with senior regional leaders to reduce product quality complaints through improved accountability, data analysis, and process optimization
