Job Summary
You are committed to general practice, and can understand the benefits (for both the patients and you) of working at a practice where personal lists and continuity of care have been embedded for many year.
One of our team is off on maternity leave from mid-September, and we need a happy and committed GP to look after her patients whilst shes away. Initially the contract will be for 6 months, but there is a possibility that it could be extended.
If You Are Someone Who Wants To:
* Get to know your patients so you can provide the best possible care
* Be an active part of the effective running of the practice
* Benefit from a well-established multi-disciplinary team including pharmacists, physios, health & wellbeing coaches and social prescribers
* Contribute to a high-functioning PCN that is making a real difference to the services provided to patients, and has recently expanded to 3 practices;
* Be part of a practice where the staff wellbeing is a real thing and not just words and all GPs meet every day at 12.15p
then maybe this position is for you?
We ideally need 5 sessions, but might possibly be able to flex slightly for the right candidate.
Kindly include a detailed covering letter with your CV to explain why you think you would fit well at Horfield Health Centre.
PLEASE NOTE: interviews for the role will take place on a rolling basis as soon as a suitable application or applications are received. Virtual interviews will be an option if required.
Main duties of the job
* Acute and chronic medical care of patients (& providing cross-cover for a buddy GP) between 8.00am-6.30pm Monday to Friday and at other times when the practice complies with its enhanced access obligations. Patient contact may be via email, phone, video, consultation at the surgery or home visits at any appropriate time throughout the working day. (Sessional pattern to be agreed but will almost certainly need to include Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.)
* Share the clinical management and administration duties in the practice (e.g. leading some of the practices clinical quality programmes).
* Participate in the practices and your individual performance management programme.
* Promote effective working relationships and communication within the practice.
* Maintain your own professional development
* Make effective use of the various information and technology systems in the practice, to include the consistent and accurate entering of data and use of read codes on the practices clinical record EMIS Web.
* Contribute to the practices team learning, teaching and research programmes as required.
* Attend meetings as required. Some meetings may occur on days that the doctor does not usually work.
* Work within all relevant practice policies and procedural guidelines
* Maintain strict confidentiality at all times, on all matters relating to patients and staff in accordance with current data protection legislation.
* Any other relevant duties that may be required from time to time.
