Job Description

Job Title: Residential Support Worker Childrens Home

Company: Kelwel Care

Location: Rainham

Shift Pattern: 2 Days On, 4 Days Off (Sleep-in Required)

Working Hours: 7:00 AM 11:00 PM

Salary: From £28,000 per annum

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our team in our Ofsted-regulated home in Rainham.

Role Overview

You will be working with young people up to 18 years old. You will play a vital role in supporting and helping them to build confidence, life skills, and resilience in a safe and supportive environment

Key Responsibilities

* Build positive relationships with residents to support their emotional and social development.
* Support daily routines, including meals, education, and activities.
* Create a safe, nurturing environment where young people feel secure and valued.
* Manage challenging behaviour using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies.
* Maintain accurate records including logs, reports, and incident forms.
* Participate in household tasks like cooking and cleaning when applicable.
* Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

Qualifications & Skills

* Experience in care or support roles with young people.
* Understanding of trauma-informed care and behaviour support.
* Education: Qualifications in youth work, social care, or a related field are preferred.
* Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate young people.
* Attributes: Energetic, patient, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting youth development.
* Requirements: A full UK driving licence and a clear Enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete one.
