An exciting new opportunity has arisen to expand the Workways IPS (Individual Placement and Support Supported Employment) team across Devon Partnership NHS Trust. Workways is recruiting an Employment Specialist to work in Barnstaple.
Workways' admin base is in Exminster, near Exeter, but day-to-day work for the post holder will be based within Mental Health teams in the area of work. The post holder will receive management and clinical supervision from Workways. The post holder will assist Workways clients in finding and maintaining paid employment using the evidence-based Individual Placement & Support (IPS) approach. Experience supporting employers and helping individuals with health conditions (preferably mental health-related) to find employment is essential.

Main Duties of the Job
The postholder will work as part of the Workways team, following the IPS evidence-based best practice. Responsibilities include providing specialised vocational assessments, managing a caseload of up to 20 individuals per WTE with mental health issues seeking employment, and working proactively to help clients achieve their employment goals. The role involves liaising with employers, mental health professionals, and other agencies, establishing and maintaining employment links, and possibly lone working and working away from base.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy, Careers Guidance, Vocational Rehabilitation, or equivalent.
* NVQ4 in Advice and Guidance or Coaching qualification.
Experience
* Knowledge of IPS and supported employment.
* Understanding of mental health conditions and employment challenges.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* Motivational interviewing and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information
This role is part-time (30 hours/week) with a salary of £31,049 to £37,796 per annum pro-rata. The position is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
