Creative Teaching Assistant – Specialist Setting

We’re supporting a specialist setting for children and young people with autism, and they’re on the hunt for a teaching assistant who can bring imagination, patience, and positivity into the classroom. Whether your thing is art, drama, music, or simply thinking outside the box, your creativity could be the key to unlocking learning and confidence for pupils.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Using creative approaches to engage pupils with autism in their learning
2. Supporting lessons in a way that sparks curiosity and builds confidence
3. Working 1:1 and in small groups to tailor support to each child’s needs
4. Collaborating with teachers and SEN staff to create fun, structured learning opportunities
What we’re looking for:
5. Experience or interest in supporting children with autism (training provided if you’re new)
6. A creative mindset—this could be in the arts, performance, crafts, or simply bringing fresh ideas to learning
7. Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
8. Someone reliable, caring, and eager to learn on the job
