The Role
We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our Financial Planning Team in the Finance Department. The role involves meeting statutory reporting requirements, supporting university strategy through management information on financial performance, and promoting good costing and pricing practices.
You will be responsible for the annual Transparent Approach to Costing (TRAC) return to the Office for Students (OfS), using activity-based costing to determine surpluses and deficits of core activities. You will serve as the main contact for the TRAC Steering Group, chaired by the Vice-President (Research & Enterprise), and collaborate with academics, faculty finance teams, and professional staff.
Additionally, you will support broader functions such as business planning, budgeting, and management accounts, and drive improvements in analysis and insights for the University Senior Executive team.
About You
* A professional accountancy qualification and membership of a relevant body.
* Experience in management accounting or costing.
* An analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organizational skills to manage deadlines and priorities.
* Strong IT skills, especially with MS Office and managing large data sets.
* Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
