Care & Support Worker (HCW) - Older People
We have an exciting opportunity for a Care & Support Worker to join our team based in Galashiels, Scottish Borders. This is an excellent part‑time, permanent role for those who live in and around Galashiels, offering a competitive rate of £13.00 per hour.
Trust Housing Association is a national housing, support and care provider, offering a range of accommodation and support services to older people and families across Scotland.
As a Care & Support Worker, you will support older and vulnerable adults in their own homes. You will work between 7.00 am and 10.00 pm seven days a week, providing assistance with daily living tasks based on individual care plans. Responsibilities include administering medication, personal support and helping with meals. Your empathetic approach will make a real difference to our tenants’ lives.
* Location: Corn Mill Court, St John’s Street, Galashiels, Scottish Borders TD1 3JY
* Hourly Rate: £13.00 per hour
* Availability: Flexible shifts (morning and back shifts), including alternate weekends
* Guaranteed Hours: 17 hours per week worked over an average of 4 days on a rolling 2‑week rota, with a mixture of weekday and weekend, day and back shifts

Skills and experience we are looking for:
* Experience in the care sector and working with older people or other vulnerable members of the community
* SVQ in Health and Social Care or relevant qualification
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Basic IT skills
Previous experience is preferred but not essential; we provide comprehensive training and support. What matters most is your passion, empathy and dedication to helping tenants live their lives to the fullest.
