Job summary
Botesdale Health Centre are looking for a professional, conscientious and highly effective Paramedic Prescriber to join our friendly team in Botesdale. This role is offered on a part-time basis, for hours per week and involves assisting medical personnel in the care of practice patients, to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education. Main duties of the job
1. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) within Botesdale Health Centre.
2. Assess and triage patients, including same day triage, and as appropriate provide definitive treatment,
3. Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management.
4. Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans and lead certain services (, monitoring blood pressure and diabetes risk of elderly patients).
5. Provide an alternative model to urgent and same day GP home visit for the practice.
6. Communicate at all levels across organisations ensuring that an effective, person-centred service is delivered.
7. Communicate proactively and effectively with all colleagues across the MDT, attending and contributing to meetings as required
8. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous health records appropriate to the consultation, ensuring accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient healthcare and registration with the organisation.
9. Communicate effectively with patients and, where appropriate, family members and their carers, where applicable, complex and sensitive information regarding their physical health needs, results, findings and treatment choices.

We are a rural GMS 9900 patient surgery with 4 partners, 4 salaried GPs, 2 paramedics and a fantastic mixed clinical and practice team with an on-site dispensary. We are located in a modern, recently extended surgery with community nurses located on site as well as an X-ray suite and glorious surrounding countryside.

16. Have post-registration experience, ideally with some being in primary care;
17. Be able to effectively assess, plan, treat and refer patients;
18. Be able to evaluate patient care confidently;
19. Have experience of working to protocols and guidelines;
20. Exhibit excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills;
21. Have the ability to make clear decisions with confidence and communicate these effectively;
22. Understanding of the need to work within the parameters of one's own training and capability, according to the Health and Care Professions Council;
23. Experience of autonomous practice working and multi-professional team working;
24. Can demonstrate due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
25. Can demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children.
