Overview
As a Senior Consultant in Communications, you’ll take charge of managing client accounts, ensuring exceptional service, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. You’ll be hands‑on with problem solving, offering expert advice, managing risks, and driving growth and profitability for your clients. How You’ll Make An Impact
Client Delivery
* Accountable for the whole service and relationship, including quality of all work and client satisfaction.
* Senior stakeholder management, consultancy, and challenge, including facilitating meetings, workshops, and calls.
* Collaborate with internal colleagues and subject‑matter experts to deliver the highest standard of service.
* Implement overarching communication strategy and deliverables.
* Plan and oversee projects and campaigns, ensuring alignment to strategy.
* Ensure project‑specific accountability and quality, including complex copy accuracy.
* Support communication ROI through measurement, learnings, analytics, and insights.
* Drive commercial client profitability, recoverability, and growth.
* Problem‑solve and mitigate risk – both client‑side and internal.
Relationships
* Build strong internal and external relationships to enable proactive consulting.
* Become a trusted partner to senior client stakeholders, acting as their ‘go‑to’ communication expert.
* Mitigate conflicts by proactively seeking acceptable outcomes for all stakeholders.
* Demonstrate influence and professionalism internally, stepping up to provide senior support and leadership when required.
Administration
* Govern your team, leading by example and championing processes.
* Ensure timely completion and quality of status reports, timing plans, and contact reports.
* Accurately record all chargeable and non‑chargeable time.
* Manage critical business tools and oversee invoicing.
Business Development
* Drive clients’ yearly development plans.
* Identify and develop opportunities for additional revenue from existing and new clients.
* Contribute to proposals, presentations, new business pitches, and onboarding of new clients.
* Act as a representative for Gallagher Communication and Gallagher.
* Develop client case studies and secure testimonials.
* Maintain industry and proposition knowledge.
About You
Technical Knowledge
* Change communication and wider integrated communications.
* Industry awareness, knowledge, and technical understanding.
Experience
* Consultancy or agency background strongly desired.
* Demonstrable track record managing senior stakeholders, including board level executives.
* People management experience.
Skills/Other
* Service oriented: outstanding customer service, translating client needs, commerciality, expectation management, strong relationships.
* Excellent organisational skills, meeting tight deadlines, managing multiple tasks.
* Core consulting skills: proactivity, questioning, listening, partnership approach.
* Problem solving and developing workable solutions under pressure.
* High accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation.
* Confidence to challenge and negotiate stakeholders.
* Positive attitude to change.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office and computing skills.
* Creative and technical copywriting, copy‑editing, proofreading.
* Basic presentation preparation and delivery.
