Part-time Accounts Payable Assistant Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Assistant to support their finance department. This part-time role involves managing the day-to-day processing of supplier invoices and ensuring timely payments. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a good understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work efficiently with attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage daily processing of supplier invoices
2. Ensure timely payments of accounts
3. Support month-end closing processes
What You'll Do:
Your primary responsibilities will include processing high volumes of purchase invoices, matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes, maintaining vendor records, and assisting with month-end closing activities. Your organizational skills will help handle high workloads accurately and efficiently.
* Process purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
* Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
* Ensure proper approval and coding of invoices
* Prepare and execute payment runs (BACS, cheques) bi-weekly
* Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
* Maintain accurate vendor records
* Assist with month-end procedures, including accruals and reports
* Respond promptly to inquiries regarding accounts payable
* Support ad-hoc financial or administrative tasks as needed
Candidate Requirements:
The successful candidate will have proven experience in a similar finance role, good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles, proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as SAP, and excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational and communication skills, along with a team-oriented attitude, are essential.
