We are working with a long standing award‑winning, multi‑disciplinary construction consultancy that deals in civil and structural engineering, geo‑environmental works, development planning and land & building surveying. Their portfolio includes multi‑storey residential blocks, new housing schemes, schools and commercial developments ranging from small projects up to multi‑million‑pound schemes.
Role
Lead design of civil engineering schemes from initial concept to detailed design, including roads, drainage, earthworks and other infrastructure elements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure designs are technically compliant with relevant regulations, standards and best practice.
- Manage technical aspects of multiple projects, overseeing planning and delivery of designs.
- Collaborate with senior management to ensure projects are on time and on budget.
- Maintain regular communication and strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and conduct surveys to inform design.
- Resolve design issues on‑site and ensure works are implemented in line with design specifications.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in highway design and similar projects.
- Previous management experience preferred.
- Relevant degree, HND or equivalent qualification.
- Good understanding of highway and drainage design.
- Familiarity with S38, S104, S185 and S98 drainage approvals.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroDrainage and PDS.
- Fresh ideas regarding SuDS.
- Willingness to mentor junior engineers.
