Title: Technical Manager
Location: Remote with regular travel across the South of England
Hours: 37.5 per week (9am-5pm)
Salary: Circa £60,000 per annum DOE + £6,200 car allowance
Contract: Permanent

Join us as Technical Manager and deliver high-quality residential developments across the South of England!

As Technical Manager, you’ll play a key role in turning ideas into high-quality, sustainable homes. Acting as the technical lead on a range of projects, you’ll bring together design, commercial insight, and regulatory expertise to ensure successful delivery from early appraisal through to pre-contract stages.

What you’ll do:

1. Providing design & technical leadership to the Development team across multiple projects
2. Managing pre-contract design, ensuring alignment with Anchor’s standards, requirements, and financial objectives
3. Carrying out commercial reviews at appraisal and development stages, including cost plans, value engineering, and risk assessments
4. Contributing to and reviewing Employer’s Requirements and Specifications to meet quality, compliance, and stakeholder needs
5. Keeping up to date with design innovation, new products, construction techniques, and regulatory changes
6. Working closely with internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders to drive best practice
7. Monitoring consultant performance to ensure outputs meet Anchor’s expectations

About You:

8. A strong track record of delivering residential projects, with in-depth knowledge of Planning, Building Regulations, and construction standards
9. Experience in residential and/or retirement housing design and delivery
10. A solid understanding of stakeholder needs, both internal and external
11. Familiarity with QA procedures, including CDM Regulations
12. Strong commercial awareness, including cost plan analysis and contractual conditions
13. Proven risk management skills across design, cost, and delivery
14. An appreciation of the housing and care needs of older people (desirable, but not essential)
