Learning Buddy – Year 3 L14

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in a child’s education and development? We’re seeking a caring and patientLearning Buddyto support a Year 3 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a friendly primary school in theL14 area.
About the Role:
As a Learning Buddy, you will work closely alongside a Year 4 boy with ASD, providing personalised support to help him access the curriculum and thrive both socially and academically. Your role will be crucial in building confidence, promoting independence, and facilitating positive interactions within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs
Assisting with communication, social skills, and emotional regulation
Supporting access to learning activities across the Year 4 curriculum
Encouraging positive behaviour and social inclusion within the class
Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCo, and other staff to implement strategies
Monitoring progress and adapting support as needed
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children with ASD or other additional needs (preferred)
Patience, empathy, and a calm, understanding approach
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children
Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
Commitment to supporting inclusion and personalised learning
