About the Venue
This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead at a vibrant, chef-led brunch and small plates restaurant in the heart of Durham. More informal than its award-winning fine dining sister venue (featured in the Michelin Guide), this site delivers standout brunches, sharing plates, and Sunday roasts in a relaxed yet quality-driven environment.
The group has opened four venues in the past three years, offering plenty of scope for the right person to grow as the business continues to expand. For an outstanding candidate, a profit share arrangement could also be considered.
The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and self-motivated Restaurant Manager to run the venue day-to-day, ensuring smooth service, a motivated team, and consistently high standards. This is a role for someone who genuinely cares about the guest experience, has the initiative to take ownership, and is hungry to develop themselves and others.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire the FOH team during busy services
* Ensure exceptional guest experiences in a lively, informal setting
* Manage bookings, table planning, and daily administration
* Oversee stock control and supplier relationships
* Take ownership of the venue, driving both service and business growth
* Maintain high operational and presentation standards at all times
Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience in a restaurant management role
* Demonstrates initiative, drive, and a passion for hospitality
* Able to develop both people and business performance
* Solid wine knowledge (formal pairing not essential, but a good understanding is key)
* Organised, adaptable, and confident leading a team independently
