Job Summary
Raymarine is a leader in the Marine Electronics industry, designing and manufacturing cutting‑edge products such as Radar, Sonar, Cameras, Chart Plotters and Instruments for leisure, first responders and commercial markets.
As an apprentice software engineer, you will develop new products and technologies, working closely with hardware, mechanical engineering and other teams across the product life cycle to deliver high‑quality, reliable devices.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing software for cutting‑edge products and deliver reliable, efficient solutions.
- Support the team in implementing software components and gain exposure to embedded systems, communication protocols, and multi‑threaded environments.
- Help with testing and debugging software, identifying and resolving integration issues.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and product development teams on software requirements and design discussions.
- Work within an agile environment.
Qualifications
- T‑levels, A‑levels or equivalent qualifications, with a passion for pursuing a degree apprenticeship in Software Engineering.
- Understanding of programming fundamentals, with some exposure to C/C++ preferred.
- Enthusiasm to learn about a variety of technologies, from embedded systems and cameras to application and platform software.
- Willingness to develop debugging and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a desire to write high‑quality code.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, and a willingness to ask questions and learn from others.
- Ability to be on site at least 4 days per week.
