Due to ongoing project growth and confirmed demand the position of Senior Cost Engineer has become available to join our Cost Engineering Team within our Digital & Advisory Business. Costain provides Project Controls support to our frameworks. This is supplemented by the provision of support from the central PMO of cost engineers working in a hybrid Site/Remote manner to suit the client requirements. This position will be a home based, hybrid role and will require site attendance once a month to Plymouth which would be travelling on the Monday, then on site for Tuesday and Wednesday and then travelling home on Thursday. Eligibility for Security Clearance is essential (UK National or a UK resident for 5 years), and a UK Driving Licence will be highly beneficial as some projects are in remote locations. Staff employed via the PMO will be required to work medium to long term on projects before rotating into the central team. As an experienced Cost Engineer, you will have detailed experience in all aspects of cost engineering and be able to work under your own cognisance creating a delivery plan in line with company procedures. Role Requirements & Qualifications Degree/HND/HNC/QBE Control, monitor, analyse and report cost related aspects for designated projects within a Portfolio. Monitor, control and analyse the project cost information, identify variances and bring these to the attention of the Project Manager with possible alternatives. Prepare specific reports to facilitate challenge and analysis to meet the project's specific needs. Ensure all cost and contract transactions on a project are understood and managed in an appropriate way. Breadth of experience across whole project and programme lifecycle. (e.g. Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes). Review and understand, with the assistance of the Planning Engineer, the schedule progress, and its alignment to the Project Control Structure. Ensure the necessary cost management interface is in place with Finance and ensure regular communications.
