Our Pharmacy Technician rate of pay starts from £14.87 an hour; this increases for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with options for fewer hours (minimum 12). We schedule your shifts within the availability windows, with 3 weeks’ notice. Customers are at the heart of everything we do. Beyond dispensing medicines, you’ll support customers with smoking cessation, medication reviews, blood pressure checks, and blood glucose testing. Our aim is to support communities by making healthcare accessible and convenient.
Working with industry experts, you will receive local management support. Our managers come from diverse backgrounds, offering learning opportunities.
Your responsibilities include:
* Accurately completing the checking process following a pharmacist’s clinical check. When appropriate, carry out the dispensing process.
* Proactively assisting customers, providing information on common ailments, symptoms, and products.
* Understanding customer needs, explaining product benefits clearly, and recommending suitable products.
* Advising on pharmacy services and supporting the dispensing process according to SOPs.
* Checking prescriptions for accuracy and legal validity confidently.
* Responding to clinical and legal queries from healthcare practitioners and customer queries related to prescriptions.
* Maintaining a clean, tidy dispensary and consultation rooms.
* Ensuring prescription administration is accurate and timely, with excellent attention to detail.
* Participating in promotional activities and meeting departmental targets.
* Supporting the Pharmacy Manager and team through coaching and feedback.
* Staying updated on legal and professional developments.
* Registering with the GPhC as an Accuracy Checking Technician, completing necessary training, and maintaining registration.
Minimum requirements:
* NVQ or similar qualification as a pharmacy technician/accuracy checking technician.
* Registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
* Proof of completion of a recognized Accuracy Checking Technician training course.
* Proof of annual Continuing Professional Development.
