An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Dietitian to join our forward-thinking, supportive, and motivated acute team of dietitians.
The successful candidate will provide dietetic intervention to inpatients on various hospital wards, as well as conduct weekly outpatient clinics and education sessions for nursing and medical teams. The role involves student training and close collaboration with a Dietetic Support Worker.
The candidate will share our values and vision of an integrated acute dietetic team, joining a dynamic group of over 90 dietitians and support staff within a well-supported Dietetic Department.
The department has a high profile within the wider Therapies team and across the Health Board, with good clerical and IT support. It actively encourages continuing professional development, with protected sessions in job plans to facilitate learning and sharing experiences.
Flexible working arrangements, including potential work-from-home days, will be considered.
The role involves supporting healthcare provision for the population of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board catchment area. You will have clinical responsibility for a varied caseload, including adult acute patients on enteral feeding and/or oral nutritional supplements, as well as outpatient work such as general clinics and group education sessions.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team comprising medical, nursing, therapy, catering staff, and other colleagues within the hospital and community settings.
The role requires autonomous working within professional policies, standards, and conduct set by the British Dietetic Association, the Health Care Professions Council, and the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board Dietetic Department.
Work is managed within clearly defined organizational policies, with supervision provided as needed.
The Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of NHS Wales, serving approximately 450,000 people across Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf, providing primary, secondary, and community health and wellbeing services.
