As the Mechanical Engineer, you will undertake mechanical design on capital projects from early concept and feasibility through to detailed design. You will be responsible for supporting projects during the build, commissioning and handover stages, ensuring other engineering disciplines, project managers and construction engineers receive appropriate guidance and direction, to ensure that relevant engineering standards are understood, interpreted and adhered to as part of the project.

Your responsibilities :
1. Proactively promote a positive Health & Safety culture and ensure adherence to JM policies (including HR/EHS/Security).
2. Generation of key mechanical engineering deliverables including: equipment and valve lists, piping and equipment layouts, isometrics, material and equipment specifications.
3. Technical expert for mechanical discipline, providing mechanical engineering designs.
4. Liaise with the Project team, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Engineering and other site or sector teams to ensure that the right systems are implemented.
5. Writing of, or input into key project deliverables such as concept selection & justification, basis of design and technical specification documents.
6. Collaborate with the other discipline design engineers in the team to produce complete engineering designs, at a definition relevant to the project stage.
7. Support mechanical engineering aspects during construction phase of projects.
8. Support development of CAPEX project scopes to maintain the aging mechanical infrastructure on site.
9. Support and generate management of change documentation to support plant modifications which enable project delivery.
10. Liaise with vendors and respond to project technical queries, undergo technical reviews (technical bid analysis) of vendor proposals and contribute to the vender selection decision making process.
11. Develop and deliver training to production and maintenance technicians as required during commissioning and start-up of projects.
12. Respond to project technical queries and scope change assessments within discipline for projects.
13. Identify the appropriate application of Industry engineering codes, standards, practices and design guides for CAPEX projects.
Requirements for the role:
14. Engineering degree in relevant subject at MEng/BEng or MSc/BSc level (e.g. Mechanical Engineering), or equivalent.
15. Previous experience working as a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, or equivalent experience.
16. Experience working under PSSR, PED, PER regulations.
17. Experience of working with RBI / RBA inspection processes.
18. Experience of fitness for service assessment processes.
19. Experience with recognised industry standards, for example PD 5500, BS EN 13121/13923.
