Spire Edinburgh Hospitals are recruiting for a Porter to provide the highest standards of personal service to patients and staff in all departments and to provide a highly efficient and courteous portering and distribution service throughout the hospital and to work as multi-skilled member of the team providing high level, quality support to he hospital, covering any of the courier, portering, and security duties.
Since 1984 Spire Edinburgh Hospitals have been delivering outstanding healthcare in the east of Scotland. We work with leading consultant physicians and surgeons to offer an extensive suite of services for diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions.
Contract Type: Bank/Zero hours
Duties And Responsibilities (not limited to):
1. To transfer, transport and guide patients safely around the hospital, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner
2. To assist in the safety of patients, staff and consultants
3. To collect and deliver clean and dirty linen
4. Responsible for the teams safe management of the collection and disposal of waste, both domestic
and clinical in line with corporate and hospital policy WM01
5. To assist with the general security of the hospital and associated grounds and report any security
problems to the Senior Management team
6. Report any maintenance issues to the Maintenance department via Pirana
7. To undertake driving duties as required
Who We're Looking For?
8. Whilst no formal qualifications are required you must be able to communicate with other members of staff and patients clearly and your personal appearance must be of a high standard, expected in a professional healthcare environment.
9. A clean driving licence is essential
10. Experience of delivering frontline customer service and working in a similar environment
11. Good communication and organisational skills
12. Excellent customer care skills
13. Ability to work without supervision
14. Caring and sympathetic
15. Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends
