Overview
London, N18 3HF. Contract availability window: Mon 09:00–19:00, Tue 19:00–23:00, Sat 19:00–23:00. Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. It is our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
* Deliver the customer’s shopping trip as part of Tesco’s service.
* Ensure the van and trays are clean and kept tidy/organised.
* Leave the back yard clean, tidy, and clear of rubbish, and pick up litter as you see it.
* Ensure trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van as required, and check the van for roadworthiness.
* Talk to the customer about any changes to their order, including substitutions, and offer a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
* Take care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explain to the customer that they will not be charged any more for their substitutions.
* Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
* Call the customer before arriving if you are early.
* Call the store/centre if you are running 30 minutes or more late.
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and work together to keep the store the best it can be for customers.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say thank you.
* Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work life.
* Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on how we can improve the store for customers.
Qualifications
* A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
