NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday.
Fixed term: 21 months.
About the Role
This is a senior leadership position as Head of Strategy, Programme and Innovation within the Digital Services Directorate. The role reports to the Director of Digital Services and is a member of the eHealth Senior Management Team. You will lead and deliver the Board’s Digital Strategy, overseeing day‑to‑day running of complex programmes and projects, including service re‑configuration and system development.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of the 2023‑2028 Digital Strategy.
* Manage a portfolio of large, complex programmes and projects across all clinical specialties.
* Provide strategic direction and oversee the delivery of transformational change.
* Lead staff management and development, ensuring high performance.
* Oversee financial management of programmes and projects.
* Collaborate with NHS Scotland Boards and external stakeholders.
* Maintain a patient‑centred focus while driving innovative digital solutions.
Qualifications
* Degree level, preferably with advanced study in a relevant field.
* Significant senior strategic experience within the NHS.
* Proven staff management and development expertise.
* Experience in financial management and strategic change implementation.
* Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
