Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Frailty team at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
Required experience includes acute and community physiotherapy in a variety of acute medical presentations and pathologies, with a focus on patients presenting with frailty syndrome. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to assess and discharge patients in a timely and appropriate manner with involvement and referrals to community services.
The team is friendly and supportive, encouraging in‑service training and the value of supervision and appraisal. You will work as part of an MDT and have opportunities to influence service provision while developing core skills with complex patients.
Responsibilities
* Assess and discharge patients with frailty syndrome in a timely and appropriate manner.
* Involve and refer patients to community services.
* Work as part of the multidisciplinary team.
* Participate in weekday night on‑call rota, weekends, and PH working.
Qualifications and Experience
* Band 6 physiotherapy with experience in acute and community settings.
* Experience with patients presenting with frailty syndrome.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Working Hours and Conditions
As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
