About the Role
As a Senior Bridge Engineer you will take the lead on bridge design and construction projects, managing both technical delivery and financial performance. The role combines hands‑on design leadership with project management and client engagement, giving you the chance to develop commercial awareness alongside technical expertise. You will be responsible for overseeing detailed designs, coordinating project teams, and ensuring safe and compliant delivery within agreed budgets and timescales.

The key requirements for this Senior Bridge Engineer role are :
* Lead the design, planning and execution of bridge and civil engineering projects
* Produce conceptual and detailed designs, drawings, reports and specifications
* Review calculations and provide technical oversight to ensure compliance and quality
* Manage budgets, prepare tenders and fee proposals, and oversee project delivery
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, attending meetings and representing the company within the industry
* Mentor and supervise junior engineers, supporting their development
* Carry out site inspections as required, including occasional overnight or weekend work

Experience required for this Senior Bridge Engineer role are :
* 5-8 years' post‑graduate experience in civil or structural engineering
* Proven background in bridge design and construction projects
* Knowledge of CAD production standards and ability to produce accurate drawings
* Strong technical report writing and communication skills
* Experience managing project deadlines and budgets

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Senior Bridge Engineer role are :
* Familiarity with contract administration and procurement processes
* Strong leadership and project management capabilities
* Ability to confidently resolve technical issues
* Experience supporting business development through proposals or technical submissions

Qualifications
* BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or a related discipline accredited by ICE
* Incorporated or Chartered Engineer with ICE or related professional body
