Overview
The Calderdale and Kirklees In-Patient Occupational Therapy team have an exciting opportunity for 1 full time Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant to become part of our team. The service is embracing positive change and developing pathways of care to meet the diverse needs of adults and older people within an acute inpatient setting. We are looking for a competent and confident OTA to join our team and provide therapeutic interventions and activity for service users currently in receipt of in-patient mental health care. The post holders will work alongside a dedicated occupational therapy team supporting and encouraging our patients in their recovery journey and delivering person-centred interventions. Responsibilities
* Work autonomously and as part of the MDT, providing therapeutic interventions and activity for in-patients in mental health care.
* Support and encourage patients in their recovery journey and deliver person-centred interventions.
* Contribute to high-standard assessment, treatment and client-centred care in a safe and therapeutic environment.
* Assist in facilitating safe and effective discharge of acute inpatients with MDT support.
* Cover weekends and Bank Holidays as part of a 7-day service; shifts are 8:30 to 16:30, with staff expected to work one late shift a week.
* Cross ward and cross site work where necessary.
* Provide a range of 1:1 interventions and therapeutic groups using a recovery-based approach and evidence-based models of working.
* Work within a team consisting of band 6, band 5 OTs and OT assistants.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant.
* Competent and confident in delivering therapeutic interventions and activity for in-patients with mental health care needs.
* Willingness to work across across wards and sites as required.
* Commitment to professional development and learning within a stimulating environment.
