About the role
The EFI is seeking an experienced and highly organised Clerk to support our Board of Governors.
In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Chair of the Board and the CEO & Principal to ensure the effective governance of the EFI. You will be responsible for managing the smooth and proper conduct of Board and committee business, providing procedural advice, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of all proceedings.
As Company Secretary for the EFI Group, you will also ensure full compliance with the Companies Act, including the timely filing of statutory documentation.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role at the heart of a dynamic, innovation-led organisation where your expertise will have a real impact.
About you
* Qualifications: You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and either hold, or be willing to work towards, a recognised governance qualification.
* Experience: You will bring a proven track record of success in a similar role, ideally within an educational, charitable, or not-for-profit organisation.
* Expertise: You will have a strong understanding of governance issues and knowledge of Company law relevant to the role of the Company Secretary and of Charity law, including the responsibilities of Directors and Trustees.
* Skills: You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce precise, high-quality reports. You will be highly organised and confident working independently, with the ability to provide impartial, well-informed advice.
* Passion: You will be a natural collaborator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be passionate about education.
