Senior Finance Assistant being recruited exclusively for a growing family business in the Wimborne area. This is a great opportunity if you thrive on accuracy, ownership and continuous improvement. This is a pivotal role in the finance team - all transactional accounts, driving controls, managing cashflow, and keeping the engine room of the business running smoothly. Reporting to and working closely with the Financial Controller. Key duties Own debt collection and keep debtor days tight Run banking, reconciliations and payment cycles smoothly Process supplier payments and staff expenses accurately and on time Prepare and submit VAT returns with confidence Issue statements and resolve customer queries quickly Import and reconcile bank data with precision Build clear, reliable cashflow forecasts Drive month-end close through to Trial Balance Deliver sharp variance analysis and commercial insight Step up for the Financial Controller when needed Tackle ad-hoc finance projects during busy periods Essential: 3 years' QBE experience in a hands-on finance role Experience of Sage 50 and ideally Xero (transition is current) Strong grasp of P&L and Balance Sheet Confident with reconciliations, VAT and payment runs Highly proficient in Excel Professional and confident with customers and suppliers (phone, email, video) Proactive, reliable and accountable Analytical, detail-driven and commercially sharp Ambitious and keen to progress your finance career Flexible and willing to step up during peak periods (including month-end) Desirable: AAT qualified or studying Xero experience Knowledge of credit rating processes and AFP Cashflow forecasting experience A range of benefits are on offer.
