About the Role
A growing and dynamic accountancy firm based in Harrow is seeking a motivated
Semi-Senior Accountant
to join its team. The firm provides a full range of services including accounting, audit, tax and advisory to a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from individuals to international businesses.
This role is ideal for someone with UK practice experience who is either part-qualified or newly qualified and is looking to take the next step in their accounting career in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of year-end financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
* Preparation of corporation tax computations and CT600 returns
* Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
* Assisting on statutory audits, including planning and fieldwork
* Managing a varied portfolio of clients under supervision
* Liaising with HMRC on client matters
* Communicating directly with clients to gather and clarify information
* Supporting senior staff on ad hoc assignments and consultancy work
* Monitoring deadlines and ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget
* Reviewing the work of junior team members when required
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 2-3 years of UK accountancy practice experience
* Part-qualified ACA/ACCA or newly qualified
* Solid understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations
* Experience using accounting software such as IRIS, Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
* Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
* Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Desirable
* Exposure to audit assignments
* Experience with cloud-based accounting systems
* Understanding of international client needs (desirable but not essential)
