Job Summary
The Directorate Manager will be responsible, in conjunction with Divisional Triumvirate, Clinical Director and Senior Management Team for the performance, development and operational management of the Emergency Department and the Minor Injuries Units services within the Division.
This will involve the delivery against operational performance measures, including Welsh Government Ministerial Targets, the achievement of financial balance for the Directorate, whilst ensuring the quality and safety of urgent and emergency services for our patients. The post holder will work closely with the General Manager, Divisional Director, Clinical Director and the Divisional Management Team to make a positive contribution to the delivery of services across the local health community and relevant networks.

Responsibilities
Working with the General Manager, Clinical Director, Senior Nurses, and their respective teams, the post holder will be expected to provide professional management support, leadership and their operational expertise to ensure that all services within the Directorate under the managerial remit of the Urgent Care Division are delivered effectively and efficiently in line with Health Board and Divisional objectives.
In conjunction with the Clinical Directors, direct, lead and motivate the relevant Directorates, ensuring a high standard of professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of services and that activity is fully aligned to the business of the HB, and is in line with local and national policy.
Promote good communication with the Clinical Directors and Senior Nurse for the Directorates and promote effective communication within this Management Team to ensure clear and effective leadership for the Directorates.
Exercise judgment involving highly complex data and situations requiring the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options in order to ensure the effective daily management of the Directorates.
Work closely with the Divisional management Team, Clinical Directors, Senior Nurses and Service Managers in the development of strategic and operational plans for the relevant services. Formulate and contribute to long‑term strategic plans which involve uncertainty, and may impact on the entire organisation and ensure that they fit within the ABUHB's strategic plans and local and national policy.
