Job Summary
Applications are invited to join our talented team in the Emergency Department of Hereford County Hospital, with the opportunity for CESR support. This is one of the most friendly and supportive workplaces that I have worked at. It is an amazing place to improve and grow as a clinician because of great emphasis being put into personal development. There are numerous opportunities to learn new clinical skills and regular teaching, and an overall culture of encouraging one to evolve and accomplish short and long term goals. The best thing about this job is that I feel I am working with friends, rather than colleagues.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join a team whose main aim is to ensure that the highest standards of Emergency Medicine are delivered by the department. You will be part of the team responsible for resuscitating critically ill medical, surgical and trauma patients, young and old, and working in the Majors, Ambulatory and Minor Injuries areas. You should be prepared to see any patient with any condition. Part of this role is to recognise and manage rapidly those who may be unwell or require timely resuscitation. You will be expected to determine which patients can be safely discharged, with or without further follow up, and to recognise those who need further investigation and admission under the care of a speciality team. There will be an expectation that you will require senior input with certain patients and you will be able to obtain that help rapidly and effectively.
