We operate on a 6-week rota, covering early and late shifts, offering flexibility and meaningful time off. Flexibility is key due to the nature of the role, which may include unpredictable finishing times and additional hours.
About the Role:
As a PCO at our court, you’ll work as part of a team to provide safe and secure escorting and custody services to detainees, focusing on their physical and mental wellbeing. Responsibilities include:
* Escorting defendants within the court, including to and from courtrooms and cells, ensuring security and safety.
* Monitoring detainees during court sessions to prevent risks.
* Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and providing support to detainees.
* Ensuring detainees have access to food and drink, catering to dietary needs.
* Monitoring health and reporting concerns.
* Ensuring court environment safety, responding to incidents, and conducting searches.
* Completing accurate paperwork and data entry.
* Collaborating with court staff, law enforcement, and legal professionals.
What you need to do the job!
No specific previous experience required; commitment to making a difference is essential. Training is provided. A valid driver’s license, good communication skills, and the ability to handle challenging situations professionally are important. Interest in criminology or psychology is a plus.

Additional Information:
Roles are subject to enhanced background checks and references. Not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship under current UK rules. Candidates must have at least two years remaining on their visa and have lived in the UK for at least one year.
