Overview
A Vacancy at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We are inviting applications for a new Consultant post in Ear Nose and Throat to join an established and expanding team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospital NHS Trust. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate experience and training in the surgical management of common, non-specialised conditions in children, and in rhinology and otology with independence in performing endoscopic sinus surgery, mastoidectomy and thyroidectomy. These capabilities should be clearly demonstrated on the list of surgical experience/procedures.
* Join the Head & Neck directorate of ENT, Oral Surgery & Ophthalmology. Deliver services across all West Herts sites including Watford General, St Albans City Hospital and Hemel Hempstead Hospital.
* Join the regional network on call via East & North Herts (Lister Hospital), supporting the out of hours provision.
* Contribute to ongoing service expansion and transformation, cross-site working, and educational/training activities.
* Indicate a job plan that includes clinic, theatre, on-call and admin time; typical full-time applicants will have a plan built to 10 PA.
Funding and Contract
* The post has been created to meet increasing demand and support service expansion. Initially commencing on a locum basis, with full funding and approval to convert to a substantive post.
* Cross-site working with opportunities to join the wider team for educational and training purposes.
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) or peri-CCT
* An appropriate higher ENT qualification

The Trust plans include a new hospital at the Watford site and updates to theatres at St Albans City Hospital. There is long day working and potential weekend working in the future.
