Pay: £95 - £115 per day
Veritas Education is pleased to be working in partnership with a welcoming, inclusive, and community-driven primary school in Lewisham, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from February 2026.
This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school is recognised for its caring ethos and strong focus on supporting pupils' academic progress alongside their social and emotional wellbeing. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils to access learning, build confidence, and engage positively within the classroom.
This role would suit a patient, enthusiastic, and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive primary school environment.
The Ideal Primary Teaching Assistant Will Have:
Previous experience supporting children within a primary school setting (essential)
An understanding of strategies to support learning, communication, and behaviour
A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach, particularly when working with pupils with additional needs
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
Key Responsibilities:
Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support
Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning activities
Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
