The Profit manager is responsible for driving and implementing an efficient Profit Management system, with a focus on margin protection, recovery actions & commercial discipline to optimise profit contribution to the Enterprise, Public Sector & Midmarket Business across the region.
Responsibilities:
Profit & Margin Management
* Identify and manage margin leakage, pricing erosion, and unfunded commercial commitments.
* Provide independent financial review and approval for bids, mega‑deals, repricing, and exceptions in line with delegation and governance frameworks.
* Ensure robust financial modelling, cost validation, and risk assessment are applied consistently.
* Act as a key escalation point for commercial risk and exception approvals
* Support and challenge profit assumptions on large, strategic, or low‑margin deals.
* Commercial Governance & Deal Support
* Identify and develop process improvements to drive efficiencies and enhance profitability.
Business Partnering
* Act as a trusted Finance advisor to Sales leadership, supporting decision‑making with accurate, timely, and commercially relevant insight.
* Partner closely with UK Sales, Pricing, Operations, and EMEA Finance teams to balance growth ambition with profitability
* Ensure due diligence around price point setting through a thorough understanding of the opportunity and the internal/external factors affecting the decision, flagging any potential compliance issues.
* Engage, and develop relationships, with regional business leaders & sales teams to obtain a deeper understanding of the local business
* Contribute to forecast accuracy by highlighting commercial risk, deal‑specific exposures, and margin sensitivities.
* Support close processes by ensuring known risks and judgement areas are surfaced early.
* Maintain clear audit trails and compliance with Finance governance standards.
Funding
* Manage and consolidate the EMEA Business Unit large deal funding process for the region.
* Responsible for the local region deal funding allocation, consolidation, tracking, and input into quarter end results.
* Liaise with external suppliers to maximise external funding opportunities into UK deals and frameworks.
* Interface with EMEA Profit Management and Pricing teams on cross‑market deals, coverage, and workload prioritisation.
* Support periods of peak activity (quarter‑end, repricing cycles) with appropriate prioritisation and escalation
* Support the development of the Pricing team
Requirements
* At least 4 years previous experience in Corporate Finance, specifically in Pricing or Profit Management with IT products and Services
* Minimum Bachelor, preferred Masters Degree Business Administration, Computer Science or equivalent, Relevant Post graduate finance qualification
* Experience in IT Sales on end-user or channel business preferable
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills across all seniority levels in an organisation.
* High level of proficiency in Excel, and other office applications
