About the Role
We are currently recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in education or those seeking flexible work within a school setting.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and complete pre-set work. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive and structured learning environment across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise classes and deliver pre-planned work in the teacher's absence
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Ensure a focused and productive learning environment
* Provide clear instructions and support to students as needed
* Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
* Assist with general school duties where required
Person Specification
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Confidence managing groups of students
* A proactive, flexible approach to working in different schools
* A genuine interest in supporting young people and education
