We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing business looking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead site maintenance operations. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring an electrically qualified engineer who is comfortable being highly visible on the shop floor.
This position would suit a strong maintenance professional who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, can manage and develop a small team of engineers, and is equally confident on supporting breakdowns.
As Maintenance Manager, you will take full responsibility for the maintenance function, ensuring minimal downtime, safe working practices, and continuous improvement across the site.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Leading and managing a small team of maintenance engineers (electrical and mechanical)
Providing hands-on technical support during breakdowns, particularly on heavy industrial machinery
Driving a proactive preventative maintenance strategy
Reducing downtime through root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensuring all electrical work complies with current regulations and safety standards
Managing contractors where required
Supporting production with rapid fault finding and problem resolution
Monitoring KPIs including downtime, response times, and maintenance costs
The Ideal Candidate
Electrically qualified (NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering)
Proven experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
Strong fault-finding capability on heavy machinery and production equipment
Experience managing or supervising a small team of engineers
Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on
Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Multi-skilled background (electrical bias preferred)
Continuous improvement / lean manufacturing exposure
