Job Title: Learning Technologist Contract type: Temporary 3-month contract with the possibility of extension Responsible to: Head of IT Services Reporting to: Digital Learning Developer Job Purpose: The post holder will be responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting new/current online curriculum systems as well as to identify, develop and implement online content to support and enhance the student learning experience. In addition, the role will involve providing support, guidance and training to staff in the development of technology supported learning. Location: The post location will be the Dungannon Campus. Due to the nature of work within the College, it is anticipated that travel to all campus sites may be required. Main Duties and Responsibilities TosupportandmaintainSouthWestCollegesLearningManagementSystem (LMS) and provide day-to-day maintenance of the LMS by ensuring quality procedures and processes are developed and implemented; TomonitorandaudittheLMSandgeneratereportsofactivity; ToworkwithallSouthWestCollegeteamstoensureintegrationbetween College systems which will enhance the student learning experience; ToliaisewithITServicesmanagersandsupervisorstoensurethattechnical capability keeps pace with the teaching and learning needs of the College; Tomaintainanddeveloponlinecurriculumsystemse.g.e-Portfolio; Toprovidesupportasnecessaryregardingnewonlinesystems,resources, services and initiatives; Totrainstafftousecurriculumtrackingsystemstogeneratelearnerdata,as well as reporting services for curriculum and management information; To assist in the design, delivery and maintenance of learning content in the College; Tofacilitateaccesstoexpertise,servicesandresourcesrelatingtodigital learning; Keepup-to-datewithnationalandinternationaltrendsindigitallearningto identify relevant and emerging technologies; Toassistinthedesignanddevelopmentoflearningmodules/resourcesfora rangeofneeds,includinginduction,continualprofessionaldevelopment,and relevant training programmes for staff; To advise and assist with digital learning, through workshops, one-to-one consultationsandonlinewebinarswhichsuitstheneedsofstaffacrossthe college; To provide staff training programmes for to maximise opportunities for Learning development within Colleges programmes of study; ToscopeandmakerecommendationsfornewITtools/softwarewhichcould be integrated effectively into the curriculum; Toassistinthedevelopmentofguidance,supportproceduresandprocesses; ToassistintheeffectivedeliveryofITServicesoperationalplans; Toreviewtherangeofonlinematerialsavailabletodeterminethebest fitnessforpurposeandvalueformoneyfromwhatisavailableonthe market; Monitoring and Review To collate qualitative and quantitative information for College Management andexternal agencies; Toattendinternalandexternalmeetingsasrequired; To liaise with internal and external audit, providing information as required; General Duties The post holder is expected: TopromoteandraisetheprofileoftheCollegeandtheservicesitprovidestothe local business and civic community; TopromoteandactivelycontributetotheCollegesvision,missionandvalues. Essential Criteria EssentialCriteria -vitalrequirementsforthe postholder Qualifications & Experience A Level 6 qualification in Information Technology,ComputerScience,Multimediaor equivalent qualification with a substantial number of modules in IT. and 1yearsrecentexperienceofdeliveringIT training programmes for a range ofusers OR A Level 5 qualification in Information Technology,ComputerScience,Multimediaor equivalent qualification with a substantial number of modules in IT. and 2 years recent experience of delivering IT training programmes for a range of users GCSEEnglishandMaths(GradeACorequivalent). Familiaritywithdigitalcontentcreationtools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate 360, Camtasia). Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
