I&I & Specialty Care (SC) Medical Affairs colleagues are experts with a deep knowledge of their therapeutic area and their medicines. The I&I and Specialty Care International Senior Medical Director will co -develop with Global therapy area colleagues a Medical Affairs strategy representative for International Division. He/She needs to show a high level of scientific and technical product expertise as well as therapy area expertise and will benefit from an established and strong network of international KOLs to function as a peer and leader for medical affairs in developing this ambition. A key element of the work will be to identify and leverage synergies and best practices in International Medical Affairs colleagues. Collaboration across functions, creativity, solution-orientation and leadership skills are key criteria for a successful candidate while showing strong ability to prioritize and focus strategies based on specific asset requirements. These strategies will support Pfizer´s vision to be a highly trusted partner that is providing breakthroughs for patients. The Senior Medical Director will: Be accountable for ensuring integration of scientific information (epidemiology, carriage, disease burden, public health value, etc.) in the assigned asset(s) or disease area as an integral member. Act as a subject matter expert on specified asset(s) and disease area science, within and outside of Pfizer. Manage a high number of inline products/product launches/ different lifecycle periods/multiple therapeutic areas. Matrix leads Global/International teams. Contribute to develop an International strategy on publications, scientific congresses, and advisory boards each year to support scientific data related to asset and disease area. Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with external partners that can inform on scientific issues of relevance to asset(s) policies and decision-making. Join relevant Global & International workstreams. Lead the scientific dialogue and positioning of assigned asset(s) and related science via various avenues, including but not limited to: The development and execution of medical advisory boards in accordance with Pfizer policies and procedures. Provide credible and accurate scientific data demonstrating the value of assigned products and differentiating them from our competitors to support country level tendering processes. Assist with competitive intelligence for assigned assets, including gathering and communicating findings. Liaise with the Content Team on slide compendiums for medical-to-medical as well as internal use for the science related to assigned asset(s) and disease area. Oversee gathering and integrating published scientific data necessary for developing product labels. Review International external grant proposals as member of the Medical Scientific Committee. Contribute as a member of the assigned category Leadership Team. Represents Pfizer on scientific issues related to specific product(s) at key study sites as appropriate, including meeting with local investigators, regulatory officials, and approving bodies as needed. Provide the needed support to country medical teams in the organization of medical education events, maintain professional scientific relationships with external opinion leaders & interact with health care professionals. Create product community groups across International medical affairs colleagues to enhance learning/best practice sharing. Work closely with Global MA Teams and platform functions to develop and implement omnichannel medical strategy which is in alignment with commercial regional offices. REQUIRED SKILL SET MD/PharmD/PHD with relevant degree preferred. Extensive experience in medical affairs and strong experience in asset or disease area related medical/scientific activities including research, clinical development, epidemiology, public health or medicine. Demonstrated experience designing and overseeing implementation of clinical interventional or non-interventional studies, including methodology, analytic plans, interpretation, and budgets, and conducting on-site assessments of study progress. Proven ability to interact with senior KOLs and Government officials. Demonstrated experience effectively leading and collaborating with matrixed teams. Established track record of values and compliance leadership, including across diverse cultures and geographies. Documented ability to take an asset related project from start to end including conception, design, protocol, analytic plan, implementation, analysis, and reporting and interpretation of results. Able to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex data; understand information on emerging safety and efficacy profile of related assets. Understand the critical data elements related to access process (including from Clinical development programs and HTA analysis, approaches of different reimbursement bodies) and lead the data generation process in anchor International countries in alignment with these. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including scientific writing skills. Strong work ethic and history of delivering project within stated timelines.
