End User Support Technician
Glasgow
The role will assist the support of the IT infrastructure covering around 2000 users in a multi network environment providing desktop support services.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Desktop Support Engineer (2nd/3rd Line)
2. Provide 2nd/3rd line desktop support for UK users, resolving incidents (including Priority One) and handling service requests from basic laptop builds to full IT relocations.
3. Build and deploy desktops/laptops using SCCM and manual processes following standard procedures. Support smartphone deployment (iPhone and Android) and troubleshoot IT issues reported via the UK Service Desk.
4. Work primarily 37 hours per week with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and on-call duties. Provide kiosk-based support at Glasgow sites to assist users with IT requests.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
5. Proven experience in IT support roles with direct, face-to-face user interaction.
6. Strong fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
7. Proficient with Windows 10/11 desktop and laptop environments, Office applications, and preferably bespoke engineering applications.
8. Confident communication skills to engage users at all levels, including senior VIPs, with resilience and professionalism.
9. Team player comfortable collaborating with colleagues across multiple remote sites.
10. Ability to prioritize, manage workloads, and handle tasks delegated by the central Service Desk.
Desirable:
11. Automation tools (such as SCCM)
12. Network patching and Cable Tracing
13. Hardware Installation/Troubleshooting
14. iOS / Android / Phone Support
15. Good knowledge of – IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy etc.
