At Kier Construction, we’re not just building structures; we’re shaping the future of our communities! We’re on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Newcastle. You’ll be instrumental in delivering a new build school project that will create vital learning spaces for generations to come.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring value, quality, and compliance at every stage. You’ll collaborate closely with our supply chain, clients, and internal teams to ensure excellence from procurement through to final account.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Manage subcontractor procurement and payments
* Provide timely and accurate information for CVR reporting
* Support change control and risk mitigation with the Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Carry out site measurements to assess subcontractor payment applications
* Collaborate with site and design teams to ensure all project variations are captured and costed
* Prepare information to enable applications for payment to clients
* Provide commercial advice to project teams as required
What We’re Looking For:
* A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
* Experience in main contracting, ideally on education or public sector projects
* Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
* A full UK driving licence
* Located in the North East of England, with the ability to travel to office and site locations
