We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Financial Controller to join us at our Yorkshire East region, based from our Head office near Doncaster. This is our largest and most successful region with a robust and secure plan for future developments.
Overview
The successful candidate will contribute to strong financial control within the region including providing financial management information to support decision making. Key accountabilities include working with the Regional Financial Director to develop a best-in-class regional finance team, developing a robust, risk-balanced and achievable business plan with the regional board, and preparing a robust monthly profit and cash forecast. The role drives a culture of maximising site profitability within the region, provides challenge on sales prices and costs, and develops best practice procedures and reporting while ensuring adherence to accounting policy and procedures.
They will also support the central finance team and treasury with ad hoc requests, collating reporting information as required and producing/maintaining other finance-specific reports. They will manage and develop a Management Accountant.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to strong financial control within the region and provide financial management information to support decision making.
* Develop a best-in-class regional finance team with the Regional Financial Director.
* Develop a robust, risk-balanced and achievable business plan with the regional board.
* Prepare monthly profit and cash forecasts; drive profitability; challenge on sales prices and costs.
* Develop best practice procedures and reporting; ensure adherence to accounting policy and procedures.
* Support central finance and treasury with ad hoc requests; collate reporting information and produce finance reports; manage and develop a Management Accountant.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience embodying company values; able to translate financial information to stakeholders; strong verbal and written presentation skills.
* Experience delivering timely, accurate reporting, cost control, budgeting and management reporting.
* Advanced Excel skills and general IT proficiency; high attention to detail; ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
* Experience in a similar role within Housebuilding or construction and experience managing a small team is desirable but not essential.
