In line with the Government's Shared Services Strategy, UKSBS is currently engaged as the future service provider within the Matrix Programme. The Programme's aim is to deliver a modern, cost-effective and scalable shared business services to nine Departments (the Policy Cluster) in a flexible way that can meet changing Government requirements, and drive innovation to optimise efficiencies and enhance user experience. The Programme will also implement a new modern SaaS ERP platform, from which UKSBS can deliver these services, driving harmonisation and significant business change across the Departments. This is a large, complex multi-year Programme.

The Partnership & Change (P&C) function supports and delivers the UK SBS Portfolio of Change, through the management of change, project, programme, and portfolio management. P&C also provides internal Business Analysis services to the organisation.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Onboarding Analyst to help establish our team of Subject Matter Experts, and to increase our capacity and skills diversity.

As an Onboarding Analyst, you must understand business and information needs, analyse and design processes, and aligning technology and data solutions with organisational goals. You will also have sound knowledge of the data engineering lifecycle who can act as a Subject Matter Expert for Power BI and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) activities. Your expertise will be key to successful programme and project delivery and help drive growth across the business.

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

* Engage with stakeholders and end-users to gather, define, and document requirements and benefits for new projects and programmes of work
* Communicate information effectively to drive decisions and actions whilst acting as a conduit between Clients, End users, Operational teams, and Technical areas
* Use various techniques to elicit and engineer requirements for technical and process development and enhancements
* Produce fully reasoned and costed business cases, document requirements, functional specifications, business objectives, cost estimations, and benefits etc
* Conduct feasibility studies, perform critical analysis of options from business, technical, and commercial perspectives, gap analysis, business process mapping, and provide subject matter expertise to the business
* Design, develop, and document data strategies, ensuring there is a fully understood and repeatable process for data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes that are efficient and reliable
* Implement data transformations, data cleansing, and data enrichment processes to ensure data quality and consistency

To be considered for the role, you should possess the following:

* Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements as well as logical solution designs
* Experience of conducting in-depth analysis of services and processes, and working with teams to identify and implement opportunities to optimise them
* Problem solving and critical thinking in planned and ad hoc situations, demonstrating the ability to quickly assimilate information, draw objective conclusions, and make considered recommendations
* Proven experience in a data engineering environment with a focus on Azure Data Services, Power BI and ETL
* Strong ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) development skills
* Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices
* Familiarity with data modelling, data governance, and data security principles
* Demonstrable ERP Systems experience with one or more of the following: HR, Payroll, Finance, Procurement, change for ERP(s) is highly desirable
* Proven experience in a Business Analyst position working on projects with a strong focus on Technical and Business Change development
* Experience of conducting in-depth analysis of services and processes, and working with teams to identify and implement opportunities to optimise them
* Sound working knowledge gained in both an Agile and Waterfall environments
* Formal Business Analysis qualification(s) or membership to relevant professional bodies
* Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and colleagues
* Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on projects and programmes with the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
* Able to take objectives and using suitable methods and techniques deliver new and amended process, practices and systems that deliver value to the business

In return for your skills and experience, we work a mixture of full and part time hours across a 37hr week with varying working patterns. We have a hybrid working model which offers flexibility; some of the business work remotely from home coming into one of our offices once a week, and some of us prefer to be in the office more often. If it helps, there is even flexibility on which office you base yourself from - Swindon, Newport, or Billingham.
